Fiji Airways marked the 10th anniversary of its Singapore–Nadi service on April 9, 2026, celebrating a decade of linking Fiji with one of Asia’s busiest aviation hubs and reinforcing the carrier’s role in expanding the nation’s global connectivity. Launched in 2016, the route has now carried more than 318,000 passengers and operated in excess of 1,700 commercial flights across 886 trips, the airline said in an anniversary statement.
The service currently flies twice weekly between Nadi and Singapore Changi Airport. Over the past ten years passenger volumes on the route have grown at a compound annual growth rate of roughly 10 percent, reflecting both rising point-to-point demand and the route’s value as a connecting corridor. Fiji Airways reports that about 67 percent of travellers use the flight for direct travel between Fiji and Singapore, while roughly 33 percent make onward connections through Changi to destinations across Asia, Europe and beyond.
Paul Scurrah, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, said the anniversary underscored the route’s strategic importance. “Over the past decade, our Singapore service has become a vital bridge between Fiji and Asia and beyond. It has opened doors for tourism, trade, and global travel while connecting Fiji to one of the world’s most important aviation hubs,” Scurrah said, noting the service’s contribution to Fiji’s economy and international reach.
Changi Airport Group also marked the milestone. Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President of Air Hub & Cargo Development at Changi, said the decade-long partnership has brought the South Pacific closer to Asia and praised the connectivity the link provides. “We look forward to deepening our partnership with Fiji Airways to further grow the route and better serve passengers travelling between Singapore and Nadi, as well as those connecting onwards via Singapore,” Lim added.
Beyond leisure and business travel, Fiji Airways emphasised the route’s role as a gateway for passengers travelling between Fiji and India, with thousands of passengers annually connecting through Singapore to the subcontinent. The carrier also highlighted the route’s capacity to support cargo movement and trade ties between Fiji and Asian markets.
The anniversary comes as Fiji Airways continues to expand its international network. Since late 2024 the airline has pursued longer-haul services elsewhere — notably the launch of a direct Dallas–Nadi route — underlining a broader strategy to diversify global connections for Fiji. While the Singapore link remains on a twice-weekly schedule, Fiji Airways said it remains focused on nurturing the route’s growth and providing seamless connections and Fijian hospitality via Changi’s world-class facilities.
As the airline looks ahead, the milestone provides a data-backed snapshot of how one route can underpin tourism, trade and wider network connectivity for a Pacific island carrier operating from a relatively small domestic market. The decade of operation establishes Singapore as a durable hub for Fiji-bound travellers and a vital bridge between the South Pacific and global markets.
