The Fiji Airways men’s 7s team is in upbeat spirits as they prepare to compete in the Vancouver 7s tournament this Sunday. Having arrived in Vancouver from Nadi last week, the team has dedicated itself to an intensive training regimen to ensure they are ready for the next round of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Head coach Osea Kolinisau reported that the team engaged in a “flush” training session over the weekend, designed to acclimatize the players to the Canadian weather and get them back into shape. The training included a mix of gym workouts and field sessions, with Monday featuring a rigorous double session. Following this, Tuesday was more moderate with a single session of rugby before they ramped up to eight training sessions yesterday.
Kolinisau expressed satisfaction with the players’ health, noting that there have been no injuries reported and that the team is adapting well to their environment. The players are eagerly looking forward to the competition ahead.
Fiji’s fixtures for Sunday are set as follows: they will face France at 7:19 AM, Argentina at 9:31 AM, and Australia at 2:56 PM. With a strong team and a solid training background, Fiji is poised to make an impactful presence at the Vancouver 7s.
