The Fiji 7s development team has officially assembled their complete roster in anticipation of the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship, which kicks off tomorrow.

Three key players, Manueli Maisamoa, Lasaro Bogisa, and Sakiusa Saqila, have just rejoined the team in Honiara after a triumphant outing with the Sri Lions, where they secured the Men’s International Open Cup at the Emirates Dubai Sevens by defeating Speranza with a score of 36-17 in the finals.

Head Coach Viliame Satala expressed his enthusiasm about their return. “It’s great to be joined by Saqila, Maisamoa, and Lasaro who came back from Dubai and have trained well with the boys,” he stated.

Despite the hot conditions, Coach Satala noted that the players have successfully adapted to the weather, allowing them to focus on their preparations optimally.

As they gear up for their opening match against Nauru, Satala emphasized the importance of taking every opponent seriously, saying, “We are treating this tournament with the respect we would do at the Series, and we will play to that standard.”

The Fiji 7s Development team is set to face Nauru at 11:34 AM tomorrow, followed by a match against Tuvalu at 7:16 PM.

This competition provides a great opportunity for Fiji’s development players to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience, setting a strong foundation for future endeavors in the sport. Their commitment to maintaining high standards reflects the team’s dedication and respect for the sport, promising an exciting tournament ahead.
