He highlighted that many players missed sessions last week due to village visits for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Vuli explained that holiday gatherings often involve family functions, feasting, and traditional kava drinking, which can affect regular training routines. Despite these obstacles, he expressed relief that most of the team managed to engage in training sessions at the Sigatoka sand dunes.
A former member of the national sevens squad, Vuli is eager to make a return to the team. He previously played for the Kaiviti Silktails before returning to the rugby union scene. Vuli emphasized the importance of consistency in fitness among the players, especially given that the Coral Coast 7s is often regarded as one of the most competitive sevens tournaments in the country. He expressed hopes that more players from their team would follow in the footsteps of former captain George Bose, who is currently part of the national side.
This year, Vuli’s personal goal is to re-join the national sevens squad, and he is committed to proving his readiness should the opportunity arise.
