The inaugural Fastest Player Sprint event at the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s rugby tournament is set to add a thrilling new aspect to the competition, thanks to the support of the Shangri-La Yanuca Island Fiji Resort. This high-octane sprint, scheduled for Saturday, January 17, aims to highlight the speed and skill of the quickest players from all teams through an exciting 100-metre race.

To ensure a fair and inclusive experience, the Fastest Player Sprint will include three separate divisions: a youth division featuring 16 competitors, a women’s division with 10, and a men’s division boasting 24 athletes. Winners in each category will be awarded premium prizes, courtesy of the Shangri-La Yanuca Island Fiji Resort, underscoring the resort’s commitment to honoring athletic excellence and rewarding outstanding performance across all levels of the sport.
