A remarkable turnout of 13,023 spectators filled Subrail Park in Labasa over the weekend to witness the pool matches of the Extra Battle of the Giants 2025 tournament. The event kicked off last Friday and continued through Sunday, attracting increasing crowds each day: 3,967 on day one, followed by 4,483 on day two, and culminating in 4,573 on day three.
Fiji Football Association’s chief executive, Mohammed Yusuf, highlighted the significance of such attendance, stating that it offered northern football enthusiasts a much-needed opportunity to enjoy high-level football without having to travel to the larger venues in Suva and Lautoka. He emphasized that this event is vital for engaging with the passionate sports lovers in the region and underscored the community’s enthusiasm.
