The Fiji Men’s and Fijiana 7s teams are set to resume their competitions starting November 30th, following the announcement from World Rugby of the first five venues for the much-anticipated HSBC Sevens Series for 2024 and 2025. Additional events are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The tournament will commence at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai, where the first round will take place from November 30 to December 1, 2024. The series will then move to the DHL Stadium in Cape Town for the second round, scheduled for December 7 and 8, 2024.
Perth will host the third round of the 2025 HSBC SVNS from January 24 to 26 at HBF Park. Following that, Vancouver will welcome participants for the fourth round between February 21 and 23, and the popular Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is slated for March 28-30.
In 2025, three new teams will join the competition as Kenya and Uruguay’s men’s teams, along with the Chinese women’s team, secured their spots through the HSBC Sevens Challenger with their successes at the promotion and relegation playoff in Madrid.
The women’s teams will include Fijiana, New Zealand, Australia, France, USA, Canada, Ireland, Great Britain, Japan, Brazil, Spain, and China. The men’s lineup features Fiji, Argentina, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, France, South Africa, Great Britain, USA, Spain, Uruguay, and Kenya. Details on the remaining HSBC SVNS 2025 events, including the Grand Final, will be announced soon.
