A group of twenty young women from Matawalu, Namoli, Vitogo, Nabakai, Naviago, and Naudolu Youth Clubs have successfully completed a Massage Therapy Training Program at the Naviago Village Community Hall in Lautoka. This training initiative, funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in partnership with the Universal Academy of Beauty Therapy, aims to equip participants with valuable skills in high-demand sectors, particularly tourism and hospitality.

With a total investment of $5,612, the program emphasized not only job readiness but also the importance of financial independence among the youth. During the graduation ceremony, officials highlighted the critical role of skills development in fostering entrepreneurship and expanding career opportunities for young Fijians. This approach is consistent with other training initiatives in Fiji, such as those offered by the Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC), which focus on providing essential skills for employment in various fields, including hospitality and aged care.

Graduates from similar programs have reported significant positive impacts on their job prospects, noting the transformative nature of the training they received. Many expressed gratitude for these educational opportunities, which are often provided at no cost, encouraging their peers to also participate in such programs.

The completion of the Massage Therapy Training Program marks an essential advancement in empowering young women, enabling them to achieve independence and meaningfully contribute to the expanding tourism sector in Fiji. By investing in education and skill-building efforts, these initiatives promise a brighter future for youth, better equipping them to address economic challenges and enhance their quality of life.

This achievement serves as an inspiring reminder of how focused training and support can invigorate communities and create pathways for success, investing in the next generation of professionals in the region.
