The Parramatta Eels have announced the immediate exit of Maika Sivo, as the winger has been released from the remaining years of his contract.

The Fijian player has been rumored to be leaving the club following a challenging 2024 season. While Sivo continued to showcase his remarkable try-scoring abilities, concerns regarding his defensive performance led to his absence from the first-grade lineup at times during the season.

The Eels have now confirmed that Sivo will be moving on to continue his career with a new team, although his next destination has not yet been disclosed.

Parramatta’s general manager of football, Mark O’Neill, expressed gratitude to Maika, his partner Korina, and their family for their contributions to the club, wishing them success in their future pursuits, both in rugby league and in life.

Sivo concludes his tenure at the Eels with an impressive record of 104 tries in 115 matches and has represented Fiji in 12 Tests since joining the team in 2019.

While Sivo’s next club remains unannounced, he is the second prominent veteran to leave the Eels this off-season, following Reagan Campbell-Gillard, who has signed with the Gold Coast Titans.

The Eels have secured Zac Lomax for the 2025 season, along with backs Joash Papalii and Jordan Samrani, and are reportedly interested in acquiring Blake Wilson and Josh Addo-Carr as new wing options.
