Registrations for the Eagles for Ears Charity Golf tournament remain open but are closing fast, organisers warned, as they step up efforts to secure teams and sponsors ahead of next Saturday’s competition at the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club in Port Denarau, Nadi.

Competition representative Howard Politini said organisers have extended the entry window until next Friday and are urging interested teams to register quickly. “We would just like to appeal to them, those who don’t come to tomorrow’s (today’s) tournament, that it is still pen and we’ll leave it open right until next Friday because some may sponsor teams but not have players,” Politini explained, emphasising that sponsors who cannot field players can still back teams.

As part of the final recruitment push, organisers will be at the Denarau club today while another golf event is under way, using the opportunity to speak directly with players and potential sponsors. Politini said the club itself will assist in matching sponsors with players where needed, helping to assemble full four-ball teams for the charity event.

The Eagles for Ears tournament, billed as a charity golf meet, will be played over the Denarau course next Saturday. While organisers have not released a full field list or a detailed schedule, the current drive indicates an effort to broaden participation beyond pre-registered entrants and to secure additional corporate support in the final days before the event.

Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, a regular host for corporate and charity golf events in Nadi, is supporting the organisers’ outreach. The move to canvass attendees at today’s competition reflects a common approach among tournament organisers to capitalise on existing golf gatherings to attract late entries and sponsorship pledges.

With the registration cut-off set for next Friday, Politini and his team are seeking a prompt response from groups that may sponsor teams or supply players. The latest mobilisation is designed to ensure a strong field and adequate sponsorship backing for the charity meet when it tees off next Saturday.
