Fiji and New Zealand have reinforced their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and regional partnerships during a recent high-level meeting held in Suva. The meeting, which involved Fiji’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Sakiasi Ditoka, and the newly appointed New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji, Greg Andrews, signified a renewed focus on mutual priorities between the two nations.
Minister Ditoka emphasized the deep-rooted ties that exist between Fiji and New Zealand, anchored by the Duavata Partnership. This partnership serves as a framework for cooperation in critical areas such as trade and investment, tourism, labour mobility, defence, climate change, health, and education.
Both countries explored avenues to bolster collaboration across these sectors, aiming to build on the well-established foundation of their friendship. This commitment to partnership not only strengthens the bilateral ties but also promises benefits for the citizens of both nations, fostering a sense of unity and shared progress in the region.
