Three individuals were apprehended on Tuesday for allegedly possessing illegal drugs. Police reports indicate that a K-9 Unit operating in the western region conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle along Waiyavi in Lautoka. During their investigation, they searched a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place in Nadi Town.

The police reportedly discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine during a brief examination of the men.

In a separate incident in Suva, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was also taken into custody after police allegedly found seedlings presumed to be marijuana in his possession. Following this, a team from the Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit executed a drug-related raid at his residence, uncovering more seedlings believed to be marijuana.

Currently, all three individuals are in police custody as investigations are ongoing.

It’s essential to recognize the proactive role of law enforcement agencies in combating the drug epidemic and ensuring community safety. Their efforts not only aim to hold individuals accountable but also serve to deter drug-related activities, thereby working toward a healthier and safer environment for all citizens.
