Three men were detained yesterday for drug-related offenses following distinct police operations conducted in Lautoka and Nadi.

A 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old resident from Duna Place, Nadi, were intercepted by the Police K-9 Unit on Waiyavi Road in Lautoka. During the search, authorities uncovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.

In a separate operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was apprehended after officers discovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. A subsequent search of his home, carried out by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit alongside the Police K-9 Unit, revealed additional marijuana seedlings.

The three individuals are currently in police custody as investigations progress.

This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related issues in the community, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and collaboration between police units and local communities.
