Three individuals were taken into custody yesterday on drug-related charges. The incident unfolded when the Police K-9 Unit intercepted a vehicle in Waiyavi, Lautoka, where they conducted a search involving a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place in Nadi Town. During the search, the K-9 Unit discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

Additionally, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver from Cunningham was arrested after being found in possession of seedlings believed to be marijuana. A follow-up raid by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) and the Police K-9 Unit at his residence led to the discovery of further marijuana seedlings.

All three men are currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related offenses and maintain public safety. As investigations proceed, it’s crucial to remember the importance of community support in tackling drug issues and fostering a healthier environment.
