Fijian Drua’s CEO, Jeff Miller, has expressed confidence in the franchise’s strong foundation in professional rugby, suggesting that the club is well-positioned to bounce back after a less-than-stellar performance in the 2025 Shop N Save Supermarket Super Rugby Pacific season. Miller, who has been in Fiji for six weeks and completed a comprehensive induction, believes his initial experiences have only reinforced the Drua’s long-term vision.

Drawing from his extensive background in Australian rugby, which includes key leadership roles with Rugby Australia and the Queensland Reds, Miller finds the Drua’s infrastructure and operational standards competitive with the best in the region. He highlighted the franchise’s impressive training facilities and its deep connection with the Fijian community as critical strengths that differentiate the Drua within the short span of four years.

Acknowledging that the team’s results last season fell short of expectations, Miller remains optimistic about the upcoming season, citing the valuable lessons learned that could lead to improved performances. He emphasized that the Drua’s strong systems, clear identity, and widespread support reflect a sustainable growth trajectory, promising that the next stage of the club’s development will soon be evident in their competitive results.

As the Drua prepare for the upcoming season, they have scheduled pre-season matches, starting with a game against the Chiefs in New Zealand on January 30, followed by a clash against the Skipper Select team on February 6 at Churchill Park in Lautoka. They will kick off the season on February 14 against Moana Pasifika, marking a fresh start and a new opportunity to showcase their growth and potential. This optimism and focus on community engagement and development bode well for the Drua’s future in the sport.
