Swire Shipping Fijian Drua co-captains Mesulame Dolokoto and Iosefo Masi are set to lead their team in an intense Round 10 match against the NSW Waratahs at Churchill Park in Lautoka this Saturday. Head coach Glen Jackson has announced an impressive lineup, incorporating several standout returns that aim to bolster the team’s performance after recent challenges.

Included in the starting 15 is young fullback Isikeli Rabitu, who will bring speed and agility to the backline. Powerful openside flanker Motikiai Murray has also been integrated straight into the starting lineup, showcasing Jackson’s strategy to enhance physicality on the field. Kemu Valetini will also contribute from the matchday 23, while Leone Nawai comes in as halfback cover following Frank Lomani’s season-ending injury.

The Drua’s front row is notably strong, featuring Peni Ravai at loosehead prop, Mesake Doge at tighthead, and Dolokoto at hooker. The locking duo will consist of Isoa Nasilasila and Leone Rotuisolia, providing stability in the scrum. The back row includes Etonia Waqa at blindside flanker and Elia Canakaivata at number 8, with Murray at openside flanker.

In the backline, Simione Kuruvoli will take the halfback position alongside Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula who is at flyhalf. The wings will feature Ponipate Loganimasi and the returning Taniela Rakuro, while Tuidraki Samusamuvodre shifts to inside centre with Iosefo Masi at outside centre. Rabitu will complete the starting backline as fullback.

To enhance the bench’s impact, Jackson has selected Zuriel Togiatama as backup hooker, Emosi Tuqiri at loosehead, and Samuela Tawake covering the tighthead position. The bench also includes support for the locks and loose forwards, ensuring depth across the positions.

Jackson expressed confidence in the squad’s preparation, highlighting the team’s motivation stemming from their previous match against the Waratahs, where they felt they let an opportunity slip away. “We can’t afford to ease into this one,” he stated, underlining the importance of a strong and determined start.

Kick-off is set for 2:05 PM, with gates opening at noon as fans gather at Churchill Park, eager to support the Drua in what promises to be an exhilarating home match. With rejuvenated spirits and key players back in action, there’s a hopeful atmosphere surrounding the Drua as they aim to secure a much-needed victory and build momentum for the season ahead.
