The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women recently faced a tough challenge, suffering a 47-31 defeat to the Western Force in Perth. Despite the loss, the match demonstrated the team’s competitive edge, particularly in the second half, highlighting their resilience throughout the game. Captained by Vika Matarugu, the Drua kicked off strongly, with Number 8 Karalaini Naisewa scoring the first try just four minutes in, accompanied by a conversion from Luisa Tisolo, leading to a 7-0 advantage.

However, the Western Force quickly seized control, scoring three consecutive tries from Sera Naiqama, Tamika Jones, and Pia Tapsell, taking a commanding 21-7 lead. Naisewa managed to score again in the 25th minute to keep the Drua in contention, but the Force continued their momentum, finishing the first half at 33-14. The Drua faced additional challenges, including a yellow card issued to Vitalina Naikore for a dangerous tackle.

In the second half, Ana Korovata responded with an early try for the Drua, but the Force’s Grace Freeman countered to extend their lead.
