The Fijian Drua have made a triumphant return to winning ways, claiming a well-deserved 28-14 victory against the Waratahs in Lautoka, breaking a streak of five consecutive losses. Etonia Waqa was pivotal in this match, earning the title of Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.

Waqa expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the support from fans and his teammates. “We’ve been trying for a long time to win, after five weeks of back-to-back losses. I’m grateful for the fans that kept turning up for us and credit to the boys for working hard and not giving up,” he stated.

The Drua showcased significant improvement in their conversion rates inside the opposition’s 22, a crucial aspect on which they had been concentrating in their training sessions. Though the wet conditions posed challenges for ball handling, Waqa and the team are confident in their ability to address these issues ahead of their next game.

Looking to the future, the Drua set their sights on an upcoming clash against Moana Pasifika in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby, scheduled for next Saturday at 4.35pm, with the match set to be broadcast live on FBC Sports. This victory serves as a much-needed boost of morale for the Drua as they continue to strive for better performances in the tournament.

The team’s resilience, coupled with the unwavering support from the fans, broadcasts a hopeful narrative of achievement. Such a victory not only reflects their hard work but also inspires optimism for the remainder of their season, as the Drua aim to build on this momentum moving forward.
