Drua Set to Host the Heavyweights of Rugby in Historic 2025 Season

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team is poised to achieve a significant milestone in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby season by hosting seven of the premier rugby teams at home for the first time. Among the notable opponents are the Brumbies, reigning champions Blues, and former champions Crusaders, presenting an exciting challenge for the Drua squad.

This historic season is further enhanced by the return of the Chiefs after a two-year hiatus, alongside matchups with the Queensland Reds, NSW Waratahs, and Western Force, promising local fans a series of thrilling clashes.

In the upcoming 2025 season, the Drua will engage in a total of 14 regular-season matches, which will consist of 11 round-robin games and three rivalry contests. Special themed rounds will add to the excitement, featuring events like Kids Round in Week 5, ANZAC Weekend in Round 11, and Culture Round in Week 3.

The season will conclude with a six-team finals series, with the Drua aiming to improve upon their quarterfinal finish from the prior year. The Drua will kick off their 2025 campaign at home on February 15 against the Brumbies at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. The team will have two away matches against the Hurricanes and Waratahs before returning to Fiji to host the Chiefs in Lautoka on March 8, which coincides with International Women’s Day.

Key fixtures include a home match against the Crusaders in Suva on April 5 and a rematch with the Waratahs in Lautoka on April 19, following their dramatic golden-point victory in 2024. The Drua will also compete against Moana Pasifika in the Clash of the Pacific on April 26, before wrapping up the regular season with three straight home games, including a Friday night showdown with the Blues in Suva on May 9 and a final home match against the Western Force in Lautoka on May 17.

The season will culminate in an away game against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on May 31, as the Drua aims to make a notable impact in the competition once again. Fans can look forward to an exhilarating season filled with fierce rivalries and captivating rugby as the Drua take on some of the league’s top teams.
