The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has announced that forwards Vilive Miramira and Mesake Vocevoce have officially re-signed with the club, extending their contracts until 2027. This decision reflects the team’s confidence in both players and emphasizes their importance in the upcoming seasons of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.
Miramira is a foundational member of the Drua, having been with the team since its inaugural season in 2022. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue representing the club, stating, “I’m grateful and blessed to sign again with the Drua for the next few years. It’s a great club that means a lot to me and my family.” Over the course of his career with the Drua, he has made 36 appearances and scored three tries. His notable performance also earned him a selection to the Flying Fijians for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
Vocevoce, who joined the Drua two seasons ago, has already made 24 appearances and has one try to his name. This young lock also showcased his talent by earning eight caps for the Flying Fijians during the Pacific Nations Cup and Autumn International Test series last year. His continued presence is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the team’s forward pack.
As the Drua prepares to take on the Blues this Friday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, the retention of key players like Miramira and Vocevoce is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the team’s competitiveness in the league.
The announcement of their contract extensions not only reinforces the Drua’s aim to build a stable and talented squad but also signals an exciting future for the club, as they look to harness the skills and experience of both established players and promising newcomers in the Super Rugby competition. Fans can look forward to an invigorating season ahead, filled with potential and the spirit of Fijian rugby.
