In the midst of a competitive start to the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season, Glen Jackson, head coach of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, emphasizes the importance of internal belief over external pressures. As teams vie for a place in the top six, Jackson acknowledges the escalating expectations and scrutiny surrounding their performance.

Despite the growing noise about their results, Jackson reassures that the focus remains on representing Fiji with pride. “Now everyone’s scrapping for the top six. As Frank said, we shut out the noise around us. It’s there. We’re trying to make this country proud. We’re trying to show these young men how good they are,” he stated.

Jackson appreciates the challenges that come with scrutiny, especially early in the competition, yet he commends his players for their ability to respond positively. “Unfortunately, sometimes we have to try and shut out the noise because it’s round two and already there’s a lot of doubt.”

He believes the team’s performances reflect the pride associated with wearing the Drua jersey, stating, “I think what the boys showed today is what it means to pull on the Drua jersey and do well.”

Looking ahead, the Drua are set to face the Brumbies next Saturday at 3.35pm in Ba, with the match being broadcasted live on FBC Sports. This matchup presents another opportunity for the Drua to showcase their talent and commitment to their nation, continuing to build on their competitive spirit in the league.
