The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua handed 200 match tickets to residents of Toge village in Ba yesterday, a goodwill gesture timed ahead of Saturday’s Super Rugby Pacific clash with the ACT Brumbies at 4R Electrical Govind Park. The donation followed an open training and fan day at the ground, after which the squad travelled to Nasova’s home village to present the tickets and meet supporters.

Winger Joji Nasova, who signed with the Drua this season and made his debut two weeks ago against the Hurricanes in Lautoka, joined the team for the visit and urged locals to turn out for the home fixture. “First off I want to thank God for my life and for the team. It’s the first time to have a Super Rugby game in Ba and it’s a huge task ahead for us,” he said, adding a direct appeal to supporters: “I want to call out the whole of Ba to come down on Saturday and cheer on your Drua team.”

The open training and fan day at 4R Electrical Govind Park gave supporters a chance to see the squad prepare and engage with players before the team’s outreach to Toge. Organisers said the ticket presentation was intended to ensure that families from Nasova’s community had the opportunity to watch the high-profile match in person, reinforcing the Drua’s community-focused approach as they prepare for one of their provincial fixtures.

Saturday’s match at 4R Electrical Govind Park is being framed as a landmark occasion for Ba, with the Drua hosting an international Super Rugby side on local soil. Supporters unable to attend in person will be able to watch the game live on FBC Sports via the walesi set-top box, organisers confirmed.

The visit to Toge underscores the Drua’s efforts to build a grassroots fan base across Fiji and to celebrate local talent pathways. Nasova’s emergence into the side — capped by his recent debut in Lautoka — has brought local attention and added personal resonance to the match being staged in his home province.

With the Brumbies arriving for what the Drua hope will be a packed stadium at Govind Park, team officials and players have been making concerted efforts this week to engage communities across Ba. The 200-ticket donation is the latest development in those outreach activities and aims to ensure a strong local turnout as the Drua look to harness home support on Saturday.
