Millenium Rentals Drasa ended a 35-year wait for an Inter-District Championship final after producing a disciplined 2-0 win over Rewa in the first semi-final at the Four R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba, the climax of the Dayals Sawmillers Fiji Muslim Sports Association IDC 2026. The victory booked Drasa a date with Munif Builder Nadi in the grand final, capping four days of tightly contested football that showcased the depth of talent in the competition.

Drasa’s semifinal performance was defined by urgency and structure, organisers said, as the side frustrated a typically combative Rewa before capitalising on key moments to put the tie beyond doubt. The clean sheet underlined a disciplined defensive effort, while their transition play and set-piece organisation gave them the openings needed to secure a two-goal margin. The win marks the first time Drasa has reached the IDC final since the early 1990s, a landmark moment for the club and its supporters.

Captain Ubada Bin Khalid hailed the collective nature of the achievement after the match, praising players, team officials and fans for their role in the run to the final. “I know the excitement, reaching the final after 35 years. With teamwork, support from officials and our fans, we made it to the finals,” he said, underlining how cohesion rather than individual heroics fuelled Drasa’s progress through the tournament.

Nadi secured the other final spot with a commanding 2-0 victory over Quick Rentals and Tours Lautoka in the second semi-final. The Jetsetters controlled tempo and chances throughout the match, drawing on the experience that carried them to back-to-back IDC titles in 2023 and 2024. Their composed and clinical display under pressure leaves them favourites on paper, setting up a clash of experience versus history at Govind Park.

Beyond the senior grade, the tournament produced tight finishes in the junior divisions, with Southern edging Lautoka 1-0 in the Under-14 grade in another closely fought contest. Tournament organisers and coaches noted the competitive balance across grades as evidence that grassroots development is beginning to pay dividends for multiple districts.

The Dayals Sawmillers Fiji Muslim Sports Association IDC 2026 has been praised for raising standards and providing a platform for lesser-seen teams — Drasa’s revival a case in point. The grand final at the Four R Stadium will not only decide this year’s champion but also test whether Nadi’s recent dominance can withstand the momentum and belief sweeping through Drasa after their historic semi-final victory.
