A tragic fire at a bar in a ski resort in southern Switzerland has claimed the lives of approximately 40 individuals, according to police reports. The incident, which has also resulted in the injury of 115 more people, many of whom are in serious condition, occurred at Le Constellation in Crans-Montana during the New Year celebrations at around 01:30 local time.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the fire but have yet to disclose a cause. However, they have firmly ruled out the possibility of an attack. The impact of this disaster extends beyond local borders, affecting people from several nations.

Regional police commander Frédéric Gisler emphasized that the immediate priority is to identify the deceased so that their families can be reunited with their loved ones as swiftly as possible.
