The Southern Division task force conducted two successful drug raids in Sakoca on Sunday, resulting in significant arrests and the seizure of illegal substances. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that during the first raid at a suspect’s residence, authorities recovered white substances believed to be methamphetamine, alongside various items suspected to be stolen. The operation was conducted with the assistance of the Fiji Police Dog Unit and the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU). A suspect was apprehended, and investigations are ongoing.
In a subsequent raid in the same vicinity, law enforcement officials arrested two men in their 30s after they discovered dried leaves believed to be marijuana, in addition to other stolen goods. These individuals are currently in custody as investigators continue their work.
ACP Driu also indicated that further arrests related to unlawful possession occurred in Sigatoka, Nadi, and Taveuni, underscoring the police’s commitment to disrupting and dismantling illegal networks. The Fiji Police Force is encouraging the public to assist in their efforts by reporting illegal activity through Crimestoppers at 919.
