COMPOL Rusiate Tudravu has assured that no police officers will be disciplined based solely on unverified Viber messages, highlighting a commitment to transparency and fairness in current investigations. During a press briefing this morning, he reiterated his stance, stating, “I’ve said it already—if there’s a link, you’re out. If there’s a link of allegation, we investigate. There’s nothing to hide. My intent coming into this office is to provide growth for this organization, which has suffered much.”

Tudravu emphasized that minor or unverified messages will not trigger immediate disciplinary measures. He noted, “I will not just, from a small message coming up from Viber, send people out… I am here to take out that fear from the members of the police force. I will act if they have evidence.” His remarks come amid ongoing investigations into allegations against senior officers, reinforcing the need for thorough verification before any actions are taken.

This approach reflects a shift towards a more considerate and evidence-based framework within the police force, promising to alleviate fears among officers while maintaining a commitment to accountability.
