Defending champions Ba Women FC delivered an impressive performance, overwhelming Suva Women FC with a staggering 12-0 victory on the second day of the Fiji FA Women’s Inter-District Championship at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Vatuwaqa.

From the outset, Ba showcased their offensive strength, racing to a 5-0 lead by halftime. Star player Sisilia Kuladina shone brightly, achieving a first-half hat-trick with goals scored in the 2nd, 9th, and 28th minutes. Alongside her, Sereana Naweni netted a goal in the 18th minute, while Asela Cokanisiga contributed another before the break.

The second half saw Ba maintain their relentless attack, with Sereana Naweni securing her own brace through goals in the 53rd, 56th, and the final moments of the match at 90+8 minutes. Additional goals were scored by Koleta Likuculacula and Elesi Tabunase, and an own goal by Esther Vunivi, combined with a strike from Joyce Naceva, concluded the match with Ba’s dominance firmly established.

Head coach Charlene Lockington lauded her team for adhering to the game plan and putting forth a strong effort throughout the encounter. “It was a great match; all credits go to the players who again stuck to the game plan,” Lockington remarked. She acknowledged the need for minor improvements but expressed confidence moving forward, particularly ahead of their upcoming match against Labasa.

Ba will clash with Labasa today at 1pm, while Suva faces Rewa at 11am as the championship continues to unfold. This victory not only boosts Ba’s morale but also sets a high bar for the rest of the tournament, reinforcing their status as formidable contenders.
