Swire Shipping’s Fijian Drua Head Coach, Glen Jackson, is optimistic about the potential of his young halves as they embark on the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. With the responsibility of leading the team in the first five-eighths set to fall on the shoulders of promising talents Caleb Muntz and Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, Jackson expressed confidence in their abilities.
Jackson praised the duo, stating, “We have got two great young 10’s in Caleb and Izzy, and we are extremely lucky in terms of Super Rugby at the moment, two quality 10’s.” He further emphasized the strength of his scrum half lineup, which is spearheaded by co-captain Frank Lomani, along with fellow young players Simi and Peni, and newcomer Philip Baselala. Jackson remarked, “It is exciting to have some quality players in that position, also in the wings and our loose forwards. We are pretty lucky with our depth.”
The Fijian Drua will kick off their season this Saturday against the Brumbies at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, starting at 3.35pm. This match provides a great opportunity for these young players to showcase their skills and potential on a larger stage, setting the tone for what could be a promising season ahead. The excitement surrounding the team’s depth and talent underscores a positive outlook for fans and players alike as they head into the new competition.
