Competition across all grades at the Crest Fiji Primary School Netball Tournament has intensified after a series of key pool matches at Subrail Park in Labasa, producing clear frontrunners and a number of tight contests as teams jostle for qualification positions. The tournament, which attracts primary school teams from across Fiji, saw several unbeaten runs and multiple shared leads following the latest round of play.
In the under-9 division Nadroga sits top of Pool A with an unbeaten run and eight points, with Labasa Mystics and Cakau Pearls trailing on four points each. Pool B is headed by Nadi Giants on eight points, with Kadavu on six, while Nasinu Celeste leads Pool C with eight points ahead of Labasa Firebirds on five. Suva Libra tops Pool D on eight points, followed by Navosa on four. Pool E remains finely balanced with Lautoka Maroons and Cakau Sharks sharing the lead on seven points and Suva Velvet on four, and Pool F sees Nadi Jets and Lautoka Gold locked together on six points with Nasinu Phoenix on four.
The under-10 grade also produced close battles. Pool A is jointly led by Cakau Tagimoucia and Kadavu on eight points apiece. Navosa heads Pool B with seven points, while Lautoka Maroons lead Pool C on six ahead of Cakau Pearls on five. Cakau Sharks top Pool D with eight points, narrowly ahead of Naitasiri Highlands on five, and Suva Libra leads Pool E on eight. Labasa Mystics hold Pool F with six points; Nasinu Celeste and Macuata South are level on four, and Suva Orchid remains in contention in Pool G with four points.
Standout performances continued in the under-11s, where Nasinu Celeste is the early pacesetter in Pool B with a perfect 10 points and Tailevu South sits second on eight. Lautoka Maroons head Pool A on eight points, Cakau Tagimoucia tops Pool C with 10 points while Suva Velvet follows on eight, and Kadavu leads the tightly contested Pool D on nine with Cakau Pearls on eight. Navosa leads Pool E on eight points, with Lautoka Gold on five, and Pool F is shared by Nadroga and Suva Libra on six points each.
In the under-12s Kadavu leads Pool A and Lautoka Gold commands both Pool B and Pool C on eight points. Pool D is shared by Nadi Giants and Labasa Mystics on six points. Suva Velvet and Suva Orchid each top their pools (E and F respectively) with eight points, and Suva Libra also holds an eight-point lead in its pool, underlining strong showings from Suva-based squads across divisions.
The under-13 and under-14 grades continued to show competitive depth. Nasinu Celeste leads under-13 Pool A with 10 points, while Lautoka Gold and Nadi Jets share the top of Pool B on seven. Cakau Sharks lead Pool C with seven, Lautoka Maroons dominate Pool D with eight, Nadi Giants top Pool E on seven, Suva Orchid leads Pool F with eight and Kadavu heads Pool G on seven. In the under-14s Suva Orchid leads Pool A on 10 points, Cakau Pearls top Pool B on eight, Serua heads Pool C on eight, and Lautoka Maroons lead Pool D on eight. Namosi Blues, Tailevu and Cakau Tagimoucia lead Pools E, F and G respectively, while Navosa and Cakau Sharks are tied atop Pool H on seven points.
With pool stages producing both clear leaders and several tight ties, teams will return to Subrail Park focused on consolidating positions as the tournament progresses.
