Courts Fiji Limited launched its 2026 Mother’s Day and Hisense FIFA World Cup promotion in Suva on May 2, combining retail bargains with community health outreach and prize draws aimed at shoppers and mothers across the country. The campaign runs until May 17 and includes a weekly draw for customers who spend $100 or more on any Hisense product, with 30 prizes available from a total prize pool valued at $44,000.

Anil Senewiratne, Courts’ general manager for retail and marketing, said the promotion was designed to “honour the quiet sacrifices of mothers and the motherly figures who fill homes with love.” He outlined a broad suite of offers tied to the campaign, including discounts across home décor, furniture, wellness products, IT gadgets and appliances, exclusive combo deals, live roadshow “red pen” bargains, extended warranties on selected items, in-store demonstrations and finance options to ease purchases.

A significant new element of this year’s campaign is a public health partnership. Courts and Sportsworld have teamed up with Diabetes Fiji to stage free wellness screening clinics at selected locations. The clinics will provide blood sugar testing, practical lifestyle advice and information on early detection and prevention, the company said, placing a stronger emphasis on preventative care alongside retail activity.

Diabetes Fiji’s acting chief executive officer, Niraj Bhartu, warned that Fiji remains among the countries with the highest diabetes rates and stressed the importance of early intervention. Bhartu said Diabetes Fiji will run free mobile screening services six days a week for the next 12 months, offering blood sugar tests, BMI assessments and nutrition counselling as part of the broader outreach linked to the Courts promotion. The push is supported by a donation from the Vision Group Foundation — a KGM Musso vehicle gifted to Diabetes Fiji to help deliver the mobile services.

Courts also partnered with Vision FinTech to offer mothers an additional chance to win: every international money transfer or foreign currency exchange conducted through Vision FinTech during the promotion period will enter the sender into a draw for a one-night stay at the Hilton Resort. The promotion is available at Courts stores in Suva as well as Courts Ba and Courts Mega Labasa.

Retailers said the initiative aims to blend commerce with community benefit, using the Mother’s Day timing to encourage purchases while making basic health checks more accessible. With the drawn prizes, discounted product ranges and the year-long schedule of mobile health screenings announced by Diabetes Fiji, the campaign foregrounds both consumer incentives and an extended commitment to public wellness.
