Striker Garbhan Coughlan displayed an exceptional performance by scoring a hat trick, leading the NZFFI Manukau Stars to a thrilling 3-2 victory over the AuFFI All Stars in the 2024 Pacific Community Cup held in Lautoka. This win marks a significant rebound for the Manukau Stars in the tournament.

The AuFFI All Stars entered the match with high spirits after their previous night’s triumph over Navua, and they took an early lead in the 23rd minute thanks to striker Praneet Singh. However, Coughlan equalized for the Manukau Stars just before halftime, converting a penalty deep into injury time.

In the second half, Coughlan continued to shine with two stunning goals that appeared to put the Manukau Stars in a commanding position. Nevertheless, the AuFFI All Stars fought back fiercely, and late in the match, they were gifted a goal when Manukau goalkeeper Joshua Precious inadvertently scored an own goal.

Following this match, both teams are set to head into the final day of competition with three points each. The next fixtures will see the Manukau Stars face Navua at 4:15 PM, while the AuFFI All Stars will take on Lautoka at 6:45 PM.

This positive showing by Coughlan and the Manukau Stars keeps their hopes alive in the competition, illustrating their ability to bounce back under pressure. Fans can look forward to an exciting final round of matches as the teams vie for victory.
