Suva Magistrate Krishnan Prasad has instructed the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to provide former Fiji Broadcasting Corporation chief executive Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and chief financial officer Vimlesh Sagar with second-phase disclosures by 4:30 PM today. The case was addressed in court this morning.
The court observed that Sagar, who is currently out on bail, did not have a second surety listed in the court records. Sayed-Khaiyum faces charges of one count of abuse of office and one count of general dishonesty causing a loss, while Sagar is charged with one count of general dishonesty resulting in a loss.
In another case, Sayed-Khaiyum again faces charges of one count of abuse of office and one count of general dishonesty causing a loss, and Sagar is charged with one count of general dishonesty causing a loss. The case has been postponed until 31 August 2024 for a plea hearing. Magistrate Prasad has transferred the case back to Court One.
