Vodafone Fiji is actively collaborating with RG Nets, a leading global Wi-Fi gateway provider, to enhance local business visibility and elevate visitors’ experiences in the country. RG Nets has been a pivotal player in developing digital connectivity in Fiji for almost a decade, and their partnership with Vodafone aims to further these advancements.
Rep. Michael Risos highlighted the introduction of a new advertising platform that allows local businesses to directly reach international visitors as they arrive at Nadi International Airport. “We’ve launched an advertising platform so that customers who come into departure or arrival areas will see a variety of ads before accessing complimentary Wi-Fi, helping local businesses connect with potential customers immediately,” stated Risos.
Antonio Kitione, Vodafone Fiji’s Head of Corporate Sales, emphasized their commitment to promoting local products through this initiative, which connects resorts with local businesses. The managed Wi-Fi service that integrates advertisements is expected to attract significant interest from different companies looking to capitalize on this opportunity.
Both Vodafone Fiji and RG Nets participated in the 2025 Fiji Tourism Expo, focusing on building relationships and exploring avenues to enhance the tourism experience. This initiative aligns with Vodafone’s ongoing efforts to empower local enterprises, which also includes previous efforts like their VitiKart platform, aimed at promoting and facilitating e-commerce among small and medium enterprises in Fiji.
These developments signal a hopeful trajectory for the Fijian economy as local businesses are increasingly given opportunities to thrive, further integrating them into the digital ecosystem and reaching a broader audience. As such initiatives foster innovation and growth, they reflect a promising future for Fiji’s overall economic and digital landscape.
