A devastating house fire on Johnson Road in Lautoka has left a local family in urgent need of assistance. Vikash Sanjay Nand, an employee of the Lautoka City Council, lost not only his home but all of their belongings in this tragic incident.

The Lautoka City Council expressed that this loss is heartbreaking for Vikash and his family. In response to this crisis, they, alongside community members, have launched an urgent appeal for support to help the Nand family begin to rebuild their lives.

The family currently faces immediate needs including clothing for adults and children (aged 2 and 6), as well as food supplies, household essentials, temporary shelter, and financial assistance. Community members and organizations who wish to offer help are encouraged to contact Vikash Sanjay Nand directly at 9652476 to coordinate support.

This incident highlights the importance of community solidarity in times of crisis. Following similar fires affecting families in Fiji, such as the loss faced by Manoj Kumar’s family in Rarawai, it’s evident that many are grappling with the repercussions of such devastating events. These tragedies remind us of how quickly life can change, yet they also inspire hope in the resilience and generosity of the community coming together to support one another during difficult times.

Those wishing to help the Nand family can take action by providing necessary supplies or contributing in any way they can, showcasing the strength of unity in response to adversity.
