Weather Update

Greetings, fellow weather-watchers! It’s time to dust off your umbrellas and put your galoshes on, because the forecast has a bit of a twist for our lovely islands.

As of 7:30 PM on June 3rd, 2025, an alert for coastal inundation continues to be in effect for our beach-loving zones, including Sigatoka (yes, Coral Coast enthusiasts, this means you), Serua/Namosi, the glamorous Mamanuca Group (hello, Malolo), the serene Kadavu region, and the picturesque Lau and Lomaiviti groups. So, if you’ve been thinking about a beach day, maybe save it for another time—unless you fancy a dip in the living room.

Current Situation: A gentle southeast wind is blowing, ushering in some cheeky southern swells thanks to a high pressure hanging out way down south.

Forecast until midnight for our beautiful Fiji group:
If you’re in those coastal spots I’ve just mentioned, brace yourself for a little sea surprise—flooding during high tides could be on the menu. Expect a patchy mix of cloud and showers in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and other surrounding areas, while the rest of the country is mostly fine. I mean, scratch that, the nights will be cool enough to justify pulling out your snuggly sweaters!

Prepare for moderate to fresh southeast winds tonight, turning mainly easterly—just like those kids who can’t decide what to be when they grow up. Seas will be moderate to rough, so if you’re a fan of sailing, maybe just keep your sea legs on standby for now.

Looking ahead to Thursday: Oh boy! Occasional showers will waltz in from the west, eventually sweeping across the group, and if you’re in the mood for drama, isolated thunderstorms might just join the party. Expect the winds to be feeling fresh and gusty—on the bright side, it will surely give your hair that windswept look you’ve always wanted!

For our friends in Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Expect cloudy periods with showers—trust me, you might want to keep that umbrella at arm’s length. And don’t forget the cool nights!

In Sigatoka/Coral Coast, sea flooding still might throw a wet blanket on your beach plans, but other than that, keep it fine with a cool breeze.

Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: Fine weather is on your side! Just cool nights to keep you company.

Over in Tavua/Rakiraki, expect some cloud cover and occasional showers, particularly over Ra.

Natadradave and Korovou, cloudy periods and showers are in the pipeline.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca fans, Mamanuca is still under the threat of high tide flooding but should enjoy mainly fine weather otherwise.

Labasa is looking good with mainly fine weather, while Savusavu’s cloudy with a chance of showers—don’t forget that trusty umbrella!

For Lau and Lomaiviti, high tides will keep the beach gear safely stowed as showers roll in.

Be cautious if you’re in Kadavu too, as they’re in for a rough splash during high tides and showers.

Lastly, for our friends in Rotuma: A strong wind warning is active thanks to a pesky trough of low pressure causing a ruckus. Expect winds doing their best imitations of a rollercoaster and occasional showers, possibly accompanied by some dramatic thunderstorms.

Stay safe and dry out there, folks!
