Weather Report

Grab your umbrellas, folks, because the weather gods are at it again! A Coastal Inundation Alert is still hanging around like that one friend who never takes the hint. If you’re in or near Sigatoka (Coral Coast, we see you!), Serua/Namosi, Mamanuca Group (yes, Malolo, we’ve got our eyes on you), Kadavu, Lau, or the Lomaiviti Groups, keep an eye out!
Right now, we’ve got a southeast wind blowing through, directed by a high-pressure system that’s hanging out way down south like a lazy beachgoer. It seems to be sending some moderate to heavy swells to the southern parts of Fiji, making the ocean feel a bit more dramatic than usual.
Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
– For our coastal friends in Sigatoka, Serua/Namosi, Mamanuca, Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti: Don’t forget, sea flooding during high tides might start feeling like a surprise dip in the ocean! Expect a fine day but with the occasional sprinkle over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. Basically, everyone else can bask in the sun. Nights will be cool, so pillows should prepare for some snuggles.
– We’ll also have moderate to fresh southeast winds that might just blow your hat off—becoming easterly later tonight, and seas that might feel a bit sassy with a moderate to rough atmosphere.
Outlook for Thursday: Showers will start popping up like surprise guests at a party, blowing in from the west and spreading throughout the group later in the day. Expect a few thunderstorms to join in on the fun too! Winds will be moderate but may decide to be fresh and gusty at times, keeping you on your toes.
Now, let’s break it down by area:
– Navua/Suva/Nausori: Fine with a chance of a quick shower—perfect for practicing your umbrella-twirling skills. And the nights? Delightfully cool.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Likely to experience some sea flooding during high tides along with mainly fine weather. Perfect time to build sandcastles!
– For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Just fine and dandy, with cool evenings wrapped in a cozy blanket.
– Tavua/Rakiraki: Mainly fine benefits, but Ra might sprinkle its artistic flair with brief showers.
– Yasawa/Mamanuca Group: Our friends in the Mamanuca group might see some high tide sea shenanigans. Overall fine and cool, with occasional downpours expected, just enough to keep things interesting!
– Savusavu: Fine apart from a few flurries here and there and cool nights perfect for warming by the fire.
– Lau/Lomaiviti/Kadavu: Sea flooding is a thing during high tides, but the sun will peek out between the rain showers. It’s all part of the weather rollercoaster!
And finally, for our friends in Rotuma: A Strong Wind Warning is keeping things dramatic out on the water. The winds are a breezy 20 to 25 knots with rough seas, accompanied by occasional showers and pop-up thunderstorms to keep you on your toes.
So whether you’re sunbathing, splashing in the waves, or dodging raindrops, remember to keep an umbrella handy and enjoy the unpredictable adventure that is Fiji weather!
