The 63rd Sanatan Inter District Championship (IDC) is heating up as four top teams aim for glory in the semifinals following intense quarterfinal matches. Fans can look forward to a thrilling first semifinal showdown between the impressive Cuvu team and Labasa, while the second semifinal features a fierce all-southern clash where Rewa competes against Nakasi.
In the quarterfinals, Cuvu managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Bua, demonstrating their determination to advance. Labasa had a more dramatic encounter, defeating Tavarau/Varoka 6-4 in a penalty shootout. Meanwhile, Nakasi edged out Nasinu with a slim 1-0 victory, and Rewa showcased their dominance by decisively defeating Wairabetia 6-0.
Earlier in the tournament, during the Round of 16, Bua overcame Samabula 3-2, Cuvu beat Tabia 2-0, and Tavarau/Varoka claimed victory over Tuva 1-0. Labasa also had a noteworthy win against Ba, finishing 5-3, while Nasinu and Nakasi both registered commendable wins, the latter defeating Valley Sanatan 3-0. Rewa’s formidable performance saw them thump Saweni 5-1 and Wairabetia edge out Nasarawaqa 1-0.
