GREYMOUSE Fiji, a prominent player in the business process outsourcing (BPO) landscape, has recently celebrated two decades of service in Fiji. Founded in 2005 by entrepreneurs Kelvin Davis and Marisa Wiman, GREYMOUSE has evolved from a small start-up to a multinational entity with a significant presence in Fiji and beyond.
In an interview with The Fiji Times, Shobna Dutt, the Partnership Manager at GREYMOUSE, emphasized that the company’s greatest asset has always been its people. “Reaching 20 years is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. Our success stems from our resilience, adaptability, and the unwavering strength of our team,” Ms. Dutt stated. She highlighted the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and mutual respect, which has enabled GREYMOUSE to thrive in an ever-changing market.
GREYMOUSE’s journey began in Suva and has seen the company expand from a single-room operation to offices across Fiji, the Philippines, and recently India, showcasing its strategic global vision. The founders’ personal connection to Fiji, combined with their desire to create job opportunities for the local workforce, was a fundamental motivator in establishing the company.
Dutt noted that while Fiji has played a crucial role in GREYMOUSE’s growth through its talented workforce, the company’s expansion into international markets is a testament to the effectiveness of its approach. The outsourcing industry in Fiji as a whole has blossomed, now employing over 8,000 individuals with potential growth to 30,000 jobs in the coming years, as mentioned by Outsource Fiji, an organization dedicated to developing the BPO industry in the nation.
Amidst challenges faced, from initial skepticism about the outsourcing model in Fiji to infrastructure hurdles, GREYMOUSE overcame obstacles through investment in training and fostering community spirit. Marisa Wiman and Kelvin Davis emphasized the significance of collaboration and teamwork in achieving success.
The future looks promising not only for GREYMOUSE but for Fiji’s outsourcing industry at large. With government support and a clear strategic focus on developing digital skills, there’s an optimistic outlook for expanded opportunities. The upcoming construction of a new, purpose-built office for GREYMOUSE underlines the company’s commitment to providing a world-class environment for its employees and enhancing its service offerings.
As GREYMOUSE embarks on its next chapter, its founders remain dedicated to leveraging outsourcing as a force for good, with hopes of continuing to make a positive impact on the communities they serve. The emphasis on resilience, adaptability, and community spirit characterizes the potential for growth within Fiji’s outsourcing sector, marking a hopeful and vibrant future for the nation.
