A car lost control and crashed onto a house in Waimalika, Nadi, late last night, causing significant damage without injuring anyone inside. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle first struck the front porch of the home before tumbling over. Fortunately, the residents were unharmed during the incident.
The house, situated opposite a fish and chips shop along the Sabeto stretch, is located near a steep bend where the driver likely lost control. Mindar Singh, a member of the household, stated that the driver and passengers fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
Singh has called on the vehicle’s owner to return and remove it from the property. Local authorities, including the police, responded to the scene shortly after the incident.
This event highlights the importance of road safety, especially in areas with challenging terrain, and serves as a reminder for drivers to exercise caution. The community is relieved that there were no injuries, emphasizing resilience in the face of unexpected challenges.
