The Ono-i-Lau Sixers secured the championship title of the 2025/2026 Suva Women’s League after a victorious match against the Nausori Majidez at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.
In a remarkable display of skill and leadership, Sixers captain Ilisapeci Waqavakatoga excelled both with the bat and ball, scoring an impressive 53 runs and taking three wickets, marking a standout all-round performance. She was well supported by teammate Cilia Lewatu, who played a crucial role by scoring 36 runs and claiming five wickets to help secure the win.
Despite the efforts of Nausori Majidez, where Akosita Levaci and Jasvil Rokoro contributed with scores of 21 and 17 runs respectively, their total fell short against the strong performance of the Sixers.
The final match was made even more special by the presence of Cricket Fiji chairman Meli Saubulinayau, who presented the awards and praised all teams for their dedication, commitment, and hard work throughout the season. The victory of the Sixers reflects not only their talent but also the spirit of women’s cricket in the region.
