A tragic accident occurred on December 15 when a 44-year-old woman, Anjila Chand, was struck by a bus while crossing the road near her home in Vunitogoloa, Kings Road, Rakiraki. After sustaining severe injuries, Chand was rushed to the hospital, where she remained under care until her passing on Monday.
The community has expressed profound sorrow over her untimely death. The Ra Naari Parishad, a local non-governmental organization in which Chand was an active member, released a statement mourning her loss. They remembered her as a cherished and respected member of their group, whose kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Chand’s funeral is scheduled for Friday, bringing together family, friends, and community members to honor her memory and contributions.
