Burglary Suspect in Viral Bau Street Case Charged and Presented in Suva Court

After months of in-depth investigations concerning a high-profile burglary case on Bau Street in Suva that garnered significant attention on social media, authorities have finally charged the suspect and brought him before a court.

The case began in March when a family on Bau Street woke to find they had fallen victim to a theft, with several of their possessions missing.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Criminal Investigations Department, operations, and Intelligence teams, a raid was performed at the suspect’s residence in Saivou, Ra, culminating in the arrest of the involved 34-year-old male.

The suspect was charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft and was presented at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

In addition to apprehending the suspect, the collaborative investigation team successfully recovered stolen goods valued at roughly $1,500.

The suspect currently remains in custody at the Totogo Police Station as he awaits the completion of further investigations that assert his participation.
