A 29-year-old man from Lajonia is currently in police custody following his arrest linked to a series of burglaries in the Northern Division. He is being interrogated at the Labasa Police Station regarding his alleged involvement in six break-ins that took place from June 4 to June 27, 2025, across the communities of Lajonia, Tuatua, and Avua.
During these incidents, various household items were reported stolen. Police investigations are ongoing, with efforts directed toward recovering stolen property and identifying any additional suspects who may be involved.
This arrest highlights an increasing law enforcement response to property crimes within the community. It reflects initiatives previously seen in the region, where authorities have been proactive in addressing crime. Earlier this year, a case involved a 34-year-old man arrested in Suva for burglary, which underscores the ongoing commitment of police to tackle thefts effectively.
The apprehension of this suspect emphasizes the importance of community safety and law enforcement’s role in securing justice for burglary victims. Ongoing investigative efforts provide hope not only for recovering stolen possessions but also for preventing future criminal activity in the area. Through collective vigilance and improved security measures, communities can work towards a safer environment.
