Allegations of bullying and illicit drug use have once again surfaced at one of the country’s prestigious boys’ schools. A recent hand-written letter shared on Facebook has brought attention to the troubling claims regarding senior students allegedly forcing younger peers, including kitchen hands, into stealing food and participating in illegal drug activities.
In light of these serious allegations, notable figures such as Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo, are calling for a thorough investigation and decisive action. Rabuka has emphasized the importance of a disciplinary process, specifically referencing the necessity of addressing corporal punishment, which is not tolerated.
Minister Vosarogo has advocated for open discussions among all stakeholders at the school to address these issues. QVS can reclaim its position in fostering a quality boarding environment,” he stated.
