As the inaugural OFC Pro League season approaches, Bula FC is setting realistic goals, focusing on patience rather than rushing into ambitions. As Fiji’s first professional football club, head coach Stephane Auvary has made it clear that the team’s primary aim for this season is to gain exposure at the highest competitive level.

Auvary openly recognizes that his squad may not be the strongest in the league, yet he emphasizes the potential for learning and development. He believes that the experience gained in this season will be crucial for his players, who are expected to absorb as much knowledge as possible to lay a solid foundation for future success.

“This first season is going to be a discovery, a learning phase for the players,” Auvary stated. “We will not be pretentious in stating that we will aim for finals or claim to be the best team in the league. It is important to acknowledge that other teams have been around longer and are well-structured. We are at the beginning of our journey, and I hope the players will learn significantly over the next five months.”

Auvary has also reminded his team to remain grounded, pointing out that the OFC Pro League will present challenges unlike those they have faced before. The inaugural season is set to kick off on January 17, marking a historic moment for Bula FC as they embark on this new chapter in Fijian football. With a focus on development and growth, the team aims to make the most of this opportunity, setting the stage for promising prospects in the years to come.
