Bula FC will bring the OFC Pro League to Fijian soil for the first time when it hosts round five of the competition from April 11-21, organisers confirmed, marking the debut appearance of all eight competing clubs in Fiji for this stage of the regional tournament. After five rounds played away from home, the Ba-based side will welcome Auckland FC, South Melbourne FC, PNG Hekari, Vanuatu United, Tahiti United, Solomon Kings and South Island United for a packed 10-day programme of fixtures and make-up matches.
The timing is significant for Bula FC, who sit third on the ladder with 15 points, trailing leaders Auckland FC (23 points) and second-placed South Melbourne FC (19 points). Home advantage offers Bula a chance to close the gap, but they will have to manage a tight schedule and the lingering effects of Tropical Cyclone Vaianu, which has forced recent training sessions indoors because of heavy rain and strong winds over the Western Division.
Matches will be staged across two venues: HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and Four R Stadium (Govind Park) in Ba. The opening weekend in Fiji features two double-headers: Saturday, April 11 at HFC Bank Stadium sees Vanuatu United v South Island United at 3pm followed by Tahiti United v Solomon Kings at 7pm. Govind Park in Ba will host the first local fixtures on Sunday, April 12 with Auckland FC v South Melbourne FC at 3pm and Bula FC v PNG Hekari FC at 7pm.
The round continues with midweek fixtures in Suva on Tuesday, April 14—South Island United v Tahiti United (3pm) and Solomon Kings v Vanuatu United (7pm)—before returning to Ba on Wednesday, April 15 for Auckland FC v PNG Hekari (3pm) and South Melbourne FC v Bula FC (7pm). Friday, April 17 brings South Island United v Solomon Kings (3pm) and Tahiti United v Vanuatu United (7pm) at HFC Bank Stadium. Saturday, April 18’s Govind Park double-header includes South Melbourne FC v PNG Hekari (3pm) and Bula FC v Auckland FC (7pm).
Two matches postponed from round three have been rescheduled for the end of the engagement, both at Govind Park on Tuesday, April 21: South Island United v Auckland FC (3pm) and South Melbourne FC v Tahiti United (7pm). Those fixtures are among several adjustments made since earlier rounds were staged away from Fiji, including round three matches played in Melbourne earlier this year.
Bula’s coaching and support staff say managing recovery, training and match-day preparation across the 10-day span will be crucial, particularly after disrupted outdoor sessions because of the cyclone. The hosting window presents both a logistical challenge and an opportunity for local supporters to witness top-tier Pacific club football at close range, with several marquee clashes—including Bula against South Melbourne and Auckland—likely to shape the front end of the table as the league heads into its next phase.
