Bula FC is enhancing its roster with the exciting addition of young goalkeeper Isoa Latui, marking the 19th player to join the club as they prepare for the upcoming season. Latui, who hails from Rakiraki, has made significant strides in his football journey, transitioning from school to club and then to national age-grade competitions.
Latui’s football career took off at Dreketi Sangam School, where he first encountered the sport in Class 3, thanks to the encouragement of a teacher. His pivotal transition came in Class 8 when, due to his height, he was encouraged to take up goalkeeping, leading him to be noticed by veteran coach Sunil Kumar who recognized his potential. He later attended Central College Lautoka, where by Form 3, he was already making waves as a member of the Fiji Under-15 national team.
His skills were further honed within the Lautoka FC system, where he played for both youth and senior teams under coach Shivam Raj. A notable highlight of Latui’s career occurred this year when he represented Fiji at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar, solidifying his reputation as one of the country’s most promising young keepers.
Signing his first professional contract with Bula FC is particularly significant for Latui, who expresses how much this achievement means to him, especially in light of the sacrifices made by his family throughout his journey. Bula FC has warmly welcomed Latui and is optimistic about his potential growth and development as he steps onto the professional stage. The club believes that his skills and determination will make a positive impact in the coming season.
