Bula FC has enhanced its roster for the 2026 OFC Pro League by welcoming 18-year-old Ibraheem Afazal, who impressed during a trial earlier this month. The talented young player joins the club from Sydney Olympic FC and caught the eye of head coach Stephane Auvray, earning his first professional contract as a result of his notable performance.
Afazal hails from Sydney and boasts strong Fijian heritage, with his father originating from Nadi and his mother from Labasa. His journey into football began at a young age, heavily influenced by his older brother and bolstered by the unwavering support of his parents.
He progressed through the Australian football system, playing for clubs such as Mounties Wanderers FC from U9 to U13 and APIA Leichhardt FC from U14 to U18, where he consistently made an impact in significant competitions. His skills have also been recognized on the international stage, as he represented Fiji at both U17 and U19 levels and received Man of the Match accolades in various OFC tournaments.
Speaking about his new contract, Afazal expressed that this achievement is a dream come true, not only for him but also for his family, who have supported him throughout his football journey. This signing represents a promising future for both Afazal and Bula FC as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the league.
