Extra Supermarket Bula FC’s head coach, Stephane Auvary, has emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment for his players this season, where they can learn from their mistakes without fear. Auvary recognizes the high expectations set by fans and the wider Fijian community but insists that it is vital for players, particularly in the country’s first professional football club, to have the freedom to explore their potential, develop their style, and establish a cohesive team identity.

He has consistently reminded the squad that the primary focus this season is not merely on winning matches but on gaining valuable insights and experiences from each game. Auvary stated, “We are not pressuring them to have a perfect performance from the start, that would be delusional because it takes time, and these players are moving from local football to professional football within a month. It’s about creating an environment where they feel like they can make their mistakes and learn.”

In line with the team’s journey, their second match in the OFC Pro League was postponed on Tuesday due to adverse weather conditions. Bula FC is set to face South Island United tonight at 6 PM, with fans able to watch the game live on FBC 2. This approach by Auvary not only sets a positive tone for the team’s development but also reflects a commitment to nurturing talent, which could bode well for the future of Fijian football.
