EXTRA Bula FC’s head coach, Stephane Auvray, remains hopeful about his team’s prospects in the 2026 OFC Pro League, despite some challenging starts to the season. After achieving a 2-2 draw against Vanuatu United and suffering a narrow 0-1 defeat against Auckland FC, Bula FC is keen to regroup ahead of their upcoming match against Solomon Kings FC this Sunday.
Reflecting on the loss to Auckland, Auvray expressed pride in his team’s resilience and determination, stating the importance of maintaining their playing style and confidence. He believes that there is significant room for improvement and anticipates a heightened level of competition as the season progresses.
“It was a tough game to lose against Auckland, but the team will take the positives into the next match,” Auvray noted. He remains steadfast in his belief that the players have the skills and resources to succeed, regardless of the setbacks faced. “We keep on playing because in the first half, we didn’t play so well. As long as you keep playing and believing, we have a structure, ideas, and a style we want to implement,” he added.
Team captain Roy Krishna shared similar sentiments, expressing pride in the team’s efforts and their growth. He admitted that frustrations may arise but emphasized the importance of trust and long-term development. “We’re on the right track, we know how to play football, we know what the coach wants us to do, and while we’re still learning, I’m proud of the boys,” Krishna stated.
Bula FC is set to meet Solomon Kings FC this Sunday at the Santos National Football Stadium in Papua New Guinea at 5:30 PM, with both Auvray and Krishna aiming to harness their team’s growth and progress into a successful performance. The optimism surrounding Bula FC highlights the potential for resilience and improvement as the season unfolds, paving the way for future successes in the league.
